Arbor Day

Join us June 1, 2019 at St. Vital park for Arbor Day 2019! We look forward to seeing you there.

Be an Arborist for a Day!

Come try tree-climbing with the pros or get a bird’s eye view of the city from a bucket truck! Arbor Day is a free family event that draws visitors from all over Winnipeg. We celebrate the trees in our communities and the arborists who care for them. It’s also a great chance to get tree care advice from local ISA-Certified Arborists and learn more about urban forestry careers!

Arbor Day Activities!

Arbor day is known for its extraordinary activities. Join us this arbor day to experience new heights. ISA certified arborists will help you safely climb one of the large trees at St. Vital park, or zip through the sky on our zip line. Heights not for you? We have plenty of activities that have your two feet planted firmly in the ground. Follow the buzzing of chainsaws to watch expert wood carvers create new pieces of art or check out one of the various non-profit booths to learn about different organizations and initiatives taking places in our community.

Wish you had a keep sake to always remind you of your arbor day experience? Why not create a tree cookie necklace at our craft tent or take home a white spruce sapling to plant in your yard.

Would Your School like to be Part of Arbor Day?

Congratulations to James Nesbitt Community School, winner of this year’s poster contest and whose artwork was featured on the official Arbor Day t-shirts! Every year, Trees Winnipeg, the ISA, and the City of Winnipeg partner with a local school to raise awareness of our urban forest. Be part of our poster competition, tree planting ceremony, and more! Contact us for more information!
