Thank you, everyone for attending our workshops. We currently don’t have any planned but stay tuned for future workshops!

Past Workshops:

Emerald Ash Borer: Is Winnipeg Ready?

A workshop to get the latest updates on what the City of Winnipeg is doing to respond to the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) crisis and hear about how this pest has already affected our neighbours. Learn about how other insects might actually be our allies in the fight against EAB.

Welcome to our special guest speakers:

Martha Barwinsky, Winnipeg City Forester, will be speaking on what the City of Winnipeg has been doing to prepare for the arrival of EAB and on what the City has been doing to respond to the pest since the beetle was detected here in November 2017.

Justin Gaudon is a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Toronto, whose research centres on long-term management of emerald ash borer (EAB) by using parasitoid wasps. Parasitoids are parasite-like insects that kill their insect host – in this case EAB.

Dr. John Ball is a Professor of Forestry at South Dakota State University and is regarded for his in-depth knowledge of emerald ash borer biology and management and will discuss what’s already been learned from the U.S. and China.
